Miami Shores Real Estate Search

Located in Miami-Dade County, Miami Shores is a residential village encompassing about four square miles, and is currently home to over 10,500 residents. The village primarily serves as a bedroom community for residents working in Greater Miami, who join its sizable percentage of retirees.

During the early 1900s, the area occupied by Miami Shores Village today mostly revolved around agriculture. It had a grapefruit grove, a tomato picking plant, a starch mill, a sawmill, a pineapple plantation, and other agricultural enterprises. Development for the village began in 1924, after the Shoreland Company purchased Bay View Estates, the Gordon Tract, and other surrounding acreage, creating Miami Shores.

Today, Miami Shores is known for its gorgeous Art Deco architecture, picturesque waterfront vistas, and serene tree-lined streets, which all combine seamlessly, giving the village a scenic atmosphere and a laidback small town charm.
